Undergraduate Applicants

We are looking for applicants for Fall 2024. If you are interested in joining the lab, please read through this page, as well as our research page, to get an understanding of our requirement and ongoing projects.

We welcome undergraduate students to partake in and contribute to research at the TReAD Lab. Undergraduate research positions are voluntary rather than paid, with an option to received class credit through the Psychology or Neuroscience majors. Due to the training involved in becoming a research assistant at the Lab, we require a commitment of 10 hours per week minimum with the expectation you will work in the lab for at least one year.

Our ongoing projects focus on rewards and motivation, motivational anhedonia, as well as behavioral and pharmacological treatments for depression. For a comprehensive list of research projects at the lab, please refer to the Research page of this website. Although particular background or training in psychology/neuroscience research is not required, familiarity with the field of translational neuroscience research is appreciated. We expect UGRAs (undergrad research assistants) to display a constant eagerness to learn about the topics stated above. Successful UGRAs in the past are people who communicate succinctly, are detail-oriented, punctual, respectful, responsive, and responsible. In addition, a familiarity with coding languages would be helpful.

Whilst the day-to-day activities may vary, your list of responsibilities at the Lab may include the following:

  1. Scheduling and running participants

  2. Literature reviews

  3. Regulatory responsibilities on current studies

  4. Data input and analysis

  5. Python/matlab based coding

We are recruiting undergraduate research assistants for Summer 2024 and Fall 2024. If you are interested in applying, please email tread.lab@emory.edu with the following items:

  1. Completed application form

  2. Resume/CV

Thank you for exploring the opportunity to work in the TReAD Lab. We view undergraduate research assistants as a vital part of our lab’s success, and value your talents and input.
